AfA #43 – Seychellen
Das nächste afrikanische Inselparadies! Winzig klein, wunderschön naturverbunden und idyllisch abgeschieden liegen die Seychellen tief im Indischen Ozean. Der Inselstaat wird dominiert durch den Tourismus (links) und die Fischerei und hat – verglichen mit anderen afrikanischen Ländern – bei vielen wirtschaftlichen Indikatoren Bestwerte vorzuweisen. Nichtsdestotrotz sind die Seychellen zunehmend mit umweltpolitischen Herausforderungen konfrontiert; sei es der Meeresspiegelanstieg, das Korallensterben (rechts) oder die Folgen der wachsenden Bewohner- und Besucherzahlen (Wohnraum, Müllentsorgung).
In Anbetracht der aktuellen Notlage in Europa und Ostasien widmen sich die letzten zehn Minuten dieser Folge dem Coronavirus und dessen möglichen Auswirkungen für das pandemie-erprobte Afrika.
