[DE] Sierra Leone. Was vielleicht fälschlicherweise nach Karibikinsel klingt, ist die ehemalige Kronkolonie Großbritanniens in Westafrika. Zunächst Drehscheibe des britischen Sklavenhandels wurde es anschließend zum Siedlungsgebiet für freigelassene Sklaven aus ganz Westafrika. Heute befindet sich das Land trotz zahlreicher Bodenschätze und einer wunderschönen Natur (z.B. River No. 2, s. Foto) unter den ärmsten Staaten Afrikas.Mehr zu Sierra Leone erfahren wir heute von Alhaji Kamba. Er ist dort aufgewachsen und hat seinerzeit den brutalen Bürgerkrieg hautnah miterleben müssen. Wir sprechen über die dortige Religionstoleranz (Christmus), die Probleme und Chancen vom Staatenbund ECOWAS, vielversprechende politische Bewegungen (NGC unter Führung des UN-Sonderbevollmächtigten für erneuerbare Energie Kandeh Yumkella) und vieles mehr.
